Bangkok Week 880 — Mika's Photos

What a busy week + long weekend! We start with book character day (cue Piggie, Gerald, and Pigeon); and then enjoy a weekend playdate with Nimo; a trip to the Aquarium (the first time in 5 years); and the start of a very early rainy season!

It's the day we've been waiting for (for a week): book character day!

Originally, these two were going as a duo...

... but we added Piggie & Gerald's distant cousin, Pigeon, at the last minute.

In a freak incident, we found one fish swimming by itself in this plastic container! So, Arlo's pouring it back in with its friends.

It's Monday, and we're going on an adventure!

We hadn't been since the height of COVID...

Arlo's super into deep-sea right now, and so he definitely enjoyed the whole thing (even though it only featured sunlit zone fish).

It took Lucy two tries, and a *lot* of observing other kids, before she was ready to do it herself.

There's a nice jellyfish zone, which is new since we last went.

They enjoyed the giant tank...

... but like last time, the shark tunnel is the star attraction.

The Sawfish (a.k.a. Carpenter Shark) was our favorite.

This guy's got his eye on Arlo.

This particular shark is much cuter.

These penguins used to have nice deep water in their enclosure; wonder what happened.

Listening to the sounds of the various sealife.

And then it's part-way back on the BTS, to have lunch at IKEA.

But, sigh. It's impossible to leave IKEA empty-handed. We should know not to go there.

In other news, this spiky cactus is blooming again! These fabulous white flowers stay in bloom for days.
