Bangkok Week 874

Despite renewed poor air quality, it’s another busy week! We visit a fun fair at another school; have Lucy’s closest classmates over for lunch; and learn that we can use Lucy’s new bed as a springboard to take flight!

A sleepy good morning from the new 3-year-old, who is "fast asleep" with her new sleeping bear.

For breakfast today, we have ice cream cake...

... and cupcakes!

Special Friday treat: tuk tuk ride home!

Special Friday evening visit from Mum's colleague from India.

They brought this neat foil crafting kit, which was a big hit!

A quick stop at the playground.

Lucy and her new bestie, sleeping in on Saturday morning.

Starting the day with a few games of Code Breaker...

... which then morphed into "busy fingers".

Off to swimming in style, with her bestie.

Meanwhile, Arlo helped dad do some shopping.

Excited by the frozen dry ice (mixed with water) from the day before.

Time to work on our cactuses.

... and off we go (for what ended up being a very long, slow ride.)

We're at a fair / open house at a small new international school.

They have a nice playground.

And a good, fast slide.

After watching some other kids, Arlo finally figured out how to flip upside-down.

Taking the school shuttle back to the BTS; Lucy was so thrilled to have her own seat!

Heading home: via BTS is much faster than tuk-tuk, we learned.

Despite the very long evening already, it's never too late for Saturday movie night!

And it's the play date we've been waiting for (fearing) with Lucy's friends.

There were 3 K2s in the house as well, just to add to the excitement.

The air was not great, but it helped to get outside.

Lucy lost the plot a bit.

Meanwhile, upstairs, water play was in full swing.

To say it got wild is an understatement.

And time for ice cream (which is actually cake, but not positioned as such).

And silence descends.

Lucy biked out to say good-bye to her friends.

Lucy got a few birthday gifts, despite it not being a birthday party.

Late afternoon cycle / run, admiring the size of the setting sun down the street.

Using her "pedal stand" again (her words, not ours).

"Orange for a nose, like the Snowman!"

Oh no! These two finally figured out that the head board of Lucy's bed is a ladder!

And they're using it to flyyyyy!

The avo is doing well! Soon time to give it a chop!

Oh dear, look at Lucy sleeping so soundly.

She's realized that giant brown bear fits comfortably in this new bed.

The air's been red for days; today it's just orange, so they can stay outside for a few minutes.

Lucy found these interesting "goggles" in the dress-up box at school.

Look! The flower bloomed on this cactus for the first time in a very long time!
